I broke my wind-up walking spark-shooting robot approximately twenty minutes after receiving it (sadly, the freezer didn’t help), so Brett got me an even cooler one. This one shoots sparks out of its face. It’s so awesome that I’m afraid to touch it.

Brett gave me this wind-up robot that walks and shoots sparks out of a hole in its chest. Convulsing with joy, I repeatedly wound it up and made it walk/shoot sparks for the better part of thirty minutes, until something happened to the spring inside. “Stick it in the freezer for a minute,” Brett said. “The metal will contract from the cold and it might reset the spring.” I did just that, but promptly forgot about it. The next day, I opened my freezer and was a teensy bit surprised to find a robot amidst my fake meat products and Lego ice cube trays.

Speaking of which, Robot Surprise would be a great band name.
